SCCM Client Repair Powershell Script

This script is designed for the Enterprise enviroment and will repair or remove/reinstall the SCCM client. It copies the source files from a remote repository prior to the reinstall. Make sure that location is defined properly in the defintions section of the script for your environment prior to running. The script performs a number of cross checks, and displays the last line of log files for confirmation at each step. It must be run with adminstrative priviledges. Download from this link.

Disk Cleanup Powershell Script

Here’s another Enterprise script to clear free disk space. It inputs a list of computers from a text file and run commands to clear free disk space, such as recycle bin, SCCM cache, Nomad branch cache, and user profiles that have not been accessed in over 120 days. After a delay of a few minutes, it will check the machines again and output the free space into a file you can compare to see if these automated steps are working. Download from this link.

What Happened To The Windows Experience Performance Score?

This was a great tool for testing hardware and comparing various systems to determine which hardware was superior and why. Unfortunately Microsoft removed the graphic part of the tool starting in Windows version 8.1, but you can still run it from the command line and review the data in current versions of Windows 10. We recently had need to evaluate surplus hardware from a client and were quickly able to determine that upgrading old desktops with used SSD’s from obsolete systems would make the desktops functional with Windows 10. Note that Windows 10 just isn’t usuable with mechanical spinning hard drives due to its heavy overhead! Open a command prompt with administrative rights and run the following command: “winsat formal”. It will take a few minutes to complete, then write a report in xml format to the following location: C:\Windows\Performance\WinSAT\DataStore. There is lots of info in that file you don’t need, so we wrote a Powershell script that outputs just the summary scores, then writes them to a file in the same folder. It also needs to be run with admin privileges. You can download the script from here. While some of these tests are undoubtedly based on outdated algorithms, overall the data is still usable for quick hardware evaluations without having to purchase a commercial product. Powershell scripts are provided as-is with no guarantee. We are not responsible for any issues that may arise from their use. The scrips may be freely copied and distributed.
